First DIY job

So, this is my first DIY job and also my first tutorial, bear with me! :)

Me and my partner have recently moved to our own flat! (YAY!) As we used to rent a furnished flat before, we never needed to buy our own furniture. So when we moved we needed to get ALL of it in one go.

We looked for wooden furniture but oak was so over our budget that my Tim (my partner) found Corona furniture, which looked ok online but was 1/3 of the price of oak furniture.

I gave him the go ahead to buy it, thinking it would be ok, but when I received it I really didn't like it.

So I decided to take matters into my own hands. haha

After I sanded it all down and wiped with a damp cloth, getting rid of all the dust I applied the primer (just a cheap Homebase one).

After the primer dried I applied a one coat of a homebase one coat glossy brilliant white paint.
It wasn't the easiest paint to use, but it did give me the results I wanted.

After all the paint had dried (about 24hrs) I applied 2 coats of varnish for the top, so the wood would look nice and treated.

I bought some new handles from Ebay, and there you go!

Loved the finished product! Yes it did take me a whole Sunday to do it all but it was worth the hassle!

I hope that helps anyone considering restoring one of their old/unwanted furniture.
